Good Reader Assigment

What makes a good reader? The author Nabokov lists ten definitions of a good reader He then asks us
to choose four. His choices of action, imagination, memory, and a dictionary are what he feels makes a good
reader.I would have to agree with most of these choices, but can only partly agree with the dictionary
choice.
For me, if a story is riddled with long pretentious words that I can not  understand,I will quickly
lose interest and move on to a new book that I can easily understand and relate to. A good book pulls me in
with rich details, weaving action with unforgetable places and characters. The only time I would find a
dictionary helpful in making a good reader would be when I am reading a textbook or doing research.
To me this is not enjoyable reading. I personally prefer to read for enjoyment and entertainment.
